This is an extremely early and very fine Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver. This revolver is the earliest example I've personally handled being in the early 18*** serial number range. All serial numbers match. The frame shows most of the original muted color case hardened finish. The barrel shows nearly 90% of the original blue, interestingly enough, it still shows the factory polishing lines around the front sight! The grip is in exceptional condition showing nearly all of the original factory varnish. The cylinder shows most of the original blue finish with the best cylinder scene I've seen on a 1849 pocket before. All of the original rolled scene is visible. The backstrap and trigger guard show all of the original silver wash. Mechanically excellent. This is an outstanding example of an extremely early Colt 1849 Pocket that is a must have for a Colt collector! This Colt has not been available to the public until now, it was tucked away in an 80+ year old gun collection. Buyer to pay actual shipping and insurance cost. Thank you! Serious offers considered!
