This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver. This example features special order Checkered Wood grips, that feature isn't often found on these Colts. This revolver features a 7 1/2" barrel in .45 Colt. Approximately 80% original nickel finish is present. Mechanically the action functions but is a bit loose and the cylinder does spin freely. Although it does mechanically work when the hammer is cocked back. This Colt needs a letter as with early special order grips, could provide a nice shipping destination also that could very well add a premium. I have not lettered it and to my knowledge it hasn't been lettered before. Shipping will cost $50 including insurance. Reasonable offers considered! Thank you!
