Description:
Pattern 1856 Enfield, stirruped ramrod, crown over VR with1871 dated lockplate with BSA stamp. Barrel is unmarked with no proofs but with correct three position rear sight. Iron trigger plate not used with only brass trigger guard mounted. Brass mountings appear to be all Enfield with no metric hardware. Stock oiled and not of Enfield quality though milled pockets for lockplate are end milled but rough. Relief for barrel retainers are iaccurately cut. Mechanically excellent even with repaired main spring. Comes with extra main spring but not needed. This is a strange animal and not East Indian. Very shotable and looks like a Barnett -- but it's not.
