Truly nice representative late 3rd Model Navy, mfd 1856. (S/N 47348). Case is near fine with a few external nicks that do not detract from the case appearance or quality. The interior has a couple of typical stains and tears with one partition that looks to have been repaired.
Revolver is mechanically sound, markings are sharp and well defined. The cylinder scene is still >80%. BS and TG retain ~60% original silver. The flask is correct and functional with tight seams. Bullet mold is excellent and In addition to "Colts Patent" marking there is JWE initials stamped on mold body.
The front sight is not rare but a somewhat unusual factory dove tail sight as opposed to typical pin.
Case colors are muted. Blue on barrel and cylinder are turning plum. Color loss appears to be age and storage related.
