This is an early gun( serial number 144XX). in excellent condition. bluing is very good, and receiver has excellent bright case colors. wood is very good - buttstock finish has probably been refreshed [ not sanded etc ] in the past. checkering is quite good.Has one tiny chip adjacent to the buttplate [ see photo]. butt plate is excellent, the Iver Johnson Owl Head. bores are beautiful. gun is perfectly tight and shows little wear, doesnt look as though it had much use at all. Choked modified and full[ as mesured by my Galazan choke gauge ] . Has uncommon 32" barrels, for a smooth swing, etc would make a very good waterfowl gun ! weighs 7 lbs 4 oz. these were well built , strong, durable guns. Length of pull, 14"; drop at coomb 1.5"; drop at heel 2.75" these are uncommon guns, especially uncommon in this condition.
