Description:
One of the nicest 99's we've had, this gun has it all: lever safety, engine turned bolt, brass cartridge counter and cocking indicator. Near perfect finish to wood,and checkering (does not have the characteristic split behind upper tang) and excellent finish to all metal (light loss of blue underside of barrel).and a mark on left side of the receiver. Save for the addition of a pad (LOP 13 1/2 approx) it is in very nearly the same cond. as when it left the Old Savage Manufaclturing Plant In Chicopee Mass. over 60 yrs ago. Rear site removed so as to not interfere with scope clearance (scope did not come to us with the rifle but we have some ideal older period correct scopes that would go nicely with this fine classic)
