Manufactured in the North Chinese city of Tientsin, this rifle was patterned after the Japanese type 30 rifle. Total production numbers are unknown and the highest serial number that has been recorded is 16503, this rifle is 15509, only 68 of these rifles have been documented in the United States. This rifle is also marked with a five-petal cherry blossom instead of the chrysanthemum, as is seen on most Arisakas. 7.92x57mm
