Description:
Colt Official Police .38 Special revolver, dated to 1937. The Official Police has a sort of legend status among collectors and Colt lovers, and this particular pistol is no exception. We believe the pistol may have been re-barreled at some point during it's life, as the frame dates to 1937, however the current barrel does not have correct 1930's markings or the correct front sight for that year. That being said, if that was the case, the barrel swap looks to have been done expertly, as shown in the photos. The pistol is in great working order, with only very slight off-timing on two chambers when the hammer is cocked very slowly, however under normal cycling, the timing and lockup is solid. The bore and chamber surfaces look great. Please refer to the photos prior to purchase. A very cool collectible shooter! C&R OK.
