I'm listing a rather unique Colt Large frame rifle, it's antique, Mfg’d in 1890, serial number 4728, popular caliber being, 45/85/ 285 or simply a 45/70. It is what I believe to be a Sporting model , has a 24" barrel which seems to be factory , half round , half octagon also with what appears to be original sling swivels. I've contacted Colt and awaiting a letter to see if more info is available . Rifle is in great condition for its age , 131 years old. Rifles bore is in good condition for a black powder era rifle. just received Colt letter, sad to say rifle started with a 28" octagon barrel, apparently barrel change or mor likely just shortened 4" and machined down to a half round configuration , still a truly unique rifle but not as I'd hoped. I will reduce the price . Thanks for your interest
