Description:
This Mauser Model 1896 Broomhandle was manufactured in 1902 or 1903. It is the finest condition pre WWI Broomhandle we have ever offered and definitely belongs in an advanced collection. Original finish on this pistol is 98%. It is not "restored", "upgraded", or "refinished". It also has the original European Walnut holster/stock which is numbered to the firearm (serial number series 359xx). Pistol is a 5.5 inch barreled model, sights are 50-1000 and it has the long extractor in the bolt. Pistol was manuactured while Paul & Wilhelm Mauser were both still alive and active in the Mauser Company and they were trying to formalize production features of this the first successful semi-automatic pistol extant, while at the same time supervising massive orders for their wonderful military rifles which were being manufactured and shipped around the world.
