#4893 Colt 1871 “Cloverleaf” House Revolver, 41RF, better known as the “Jim Fisk” revolver so named because if its use in the assignation of the political boss James Fisk. This model was produced in both a 4-shot and a 5-shot model with the 4-shot being with a more “unconventional design” with its signature “cloverleaf” shaped cylinder. Total production of approx 9000+ was between 1871-1876 with a relatively low survival rate due to being the somewhat anemic 41RF caliber and this odd design that is rather uncomfortable and clumsy to handle. This a Very Fine specimen with about 75-80% coverage of a 50-60% density blue, 15% silver wash, excellent metal and grips, tight action and VG+ bore. The blue looks kinda “washed out” and the tarnished silver looks black in my photos, but both are actually much better when an in-hand examination is done. Definitely advanced collector condition and a pretty scarce Colt. Fine/Ex.Fine as described. $1995
