this Winchester M-70 Super Grade M-70, Cal .270, Serial No. "270" (1937). The gun bluing is about 98%. The tapered barrel ( 24 inch) has a fine evenly match bluing
through the no edewear muzzle. The Trigger Housing and Guard & floor Plate are 100% (w/no floorplate edge wear).The bore is a mirror w/a distinct twist. The action is smooth and firm. The buttstock is a medium dark long grain w/slightly darker shades & tones. The grip has perfect hand checkering and has the dictinct "Winchester Repeating Arms" cap.There are some very faint handling marks. I would say the stock is about 96-98%. The forearm is perfect w/a nice Ebony forecap
and w/ hand checkering.It has the recessed sling swivels. There are 2 screw filled scope holes forward of the chamber and one behind w/2 to the left side of the
receiver. These appear to be factory. It also comes w/an Leupold Vari - X III 3.5 x 10 ( Excellent).
This Winchester M-70 Super Grade has had excellent care for a 83 year firearm.. I would give it and "NRA Excellent"rating..
