Description:
"Made in 1876. 44-40 with a 20" barrel. Nice sharp gun with good clear markings. Barrel has a light brown to gray patina. Frame is a mostly brown patina with trace blue in the protected areas. Wood is very good and has a pleasing weathered appearance on the butt stock. The weathered appearance is on the left hand side of the butt stock and based on the condition of the rest of the gun makes us think this gun was probably carried in a rifle scabbard. Bore has strong rifling with some pitting. There is a ring about an inch from the muzzle. A blade has been added to the barrel band front sight. Very nice example of an honest 1st model Winchester 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine!
