French flintlock silver mounted, engraved with canon muzzle. Lock is marked ""Lboslandois a Paris"". Circa 1780. This is an elegant French pocket pistol for a gentleman. Barrel length is 3 1/4"" and overall length is 6 3/4"". Silver butt cap has a crossed leaf fronds device. The trigger guard, bow and finial are of silver and are floral engraved. The stock is French walnut and the silver side plate is 2 1/2"" long and engraved in a rococco pattern of ruffles. The stock is well carved behind the breech tang in relief flowing florals. There is silver escutcheon on the backstrap which is vacant. The action works perfectly. Overall this a beautifully made French pocket pistol.
