Description:
A very nice Plains rifle marked: S. MORRISON, MILTON , PA. with a 39" octagon barrel of about .32 cal with stong aggressive rifling. Overall length is about 54 1/2" overall. The set ytiggers work well on this early model the rear trigger must be set before cocing the hammer. Having brass furniture and crescnt burr-plate, comes with a haedwood ram-rod with a tin/iron sheet wrapped tip. Overall a fancy mantle gun. The American black walnut stock is good with numerous age lines and cracks along to top edges of the stock where it meets the barrel which are commonly found on rifled where the barrel is pinned to the stock as each time the barrel is removed the pins get removed and inserting them in again the come out the other side,off center and score the wood. Gun is solid however and shows up well.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
