These pre-war M-71s are getting hard to find, especially in this excellent condition. The receiver retains most of the original bright deep blue with only the most minor of flaking on the rear portion of the loading gate and some miniscule slight scratches- even the upper tang and bottom of the receiver have bright blue. The barrel and mag tube also retain deep blue with barely some minor scuff marks probably from standing in a rack- one must look closely to see this. The forend cap blue is thinning and mixing a bit plum. Excellent wood with sharp checkering and most of the original finish intact, correct checkered steel butt plate and Winchester embossed hard rubber pistol grip cap. Bolt peep sight with hooded front sight and blank filler in the rear sight dovetail. Minty bright bore. A superior first year, 85 year old deluxe M-71.
