Colt Model 1849. Exquisitely factory engraved by renowned Gustavo Young.. Very rare Silver finish. .31, 5" oct bbl. This revolver was made 1861, during the Civil War, given the elaborate engraving and silver finish, this gun was likely given to a young officer going off to war. It remains in Extremely fine condition with all numbers matching. The silver finish on gun was likely restored shortly after the war. The restoration was executed perfectly as there is no loss to engraving. All in all an extraordinary firearm that makes a striking appearance! Trades or lay away considered.
