Description:
***** SALE PENDING 4/21/2021 *****

A.H. Fox 20 Gauge side by side shotgun:

Savage barrel 26 inch, 2 3/4 in chamber, 42.25 inch overall length.

Only 413 CE grades were made in 20 gauge, and of these only 47 were made in Utica, N.Y.

The barrel reads: "Special Alloy-forged Steel- Savage Arms Corporation, Utica, NY , U.S.A."

The wood stock is a rich dark, curly Walnut. The grain is beautifully brought out in the hand rubbed oil finish. The checkering is of fine diamond pattern on grip, panels and for end, some marks noted in photos, as well as non-original buttpad with Ruger logo. Engraving reflects the incredible quality that is this beautiful shotgun, as does the finish.
Some would note that the finish is just too nice for this aged beauty, and it may be.
We cannot state this is the original bluing, but have no reason to think that it isn't based on it's known history with so few owners.

These guns came with  26” or 28” barrels. Unable to guarantee that this was issued with the 26” barrels. High grade wood and beavertail forend were available as an option.

The current owner bought this gun in 1951 and was told at that time that it originally belonged to a woman who became the Canadian Skeet Champion. Sadly, no proof of this available.
