Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of  superior strength and mechanical genius created under the micro management of John Olin himself.  Model 21 guns are capable of shooting the most powerful loads, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN.  From 1930 to 1980 they made about 2900 twenty-gauge guns in all grades, most of them Standard Grade and Skeet Grade guns, so they are not “RARE” guns, but they are not common either.  So how do you know which Model 21 to buy?  For the upland bird hunter, the quest is for a LIGHTWEIGHT GUN WITH LONGER BARRELS AND CHOKES MEANT FOR THE FIELD.  For the buyer looking for a good investment that will gain value as you enjoy its use, condition and special features are important.  THIS M21 HAS THE CHARACTERISTICS THAT MAKE IT AN EASY CHOICE AMONGST THE OTHER AVAILABLE OFFERINGS.  Most Model 21 twenty-gauge guns are on the heavy side, weighing from 6 3/4lbs. to 7lbs., and have 26” barrels with skeet chokes, and fat beavertail forends.  This fine little M21 weighs in at a scant 6lbs. 7oz. with 28” barrels factory choked Modified and Full.  It is also equipped with a splinter forend that most upland hunters prefer in the field, another hard-to-find feature on a Model 21.  Then it has the Winchester #2 engraving, a rare find on any Model 21.  Most engraved M21 guns you see are not factory engraved even if they are represented as such.  The only way to be sure is with factory records that document the engraving.  This M21, sn5258 built in 1935 (+-), does not have any records on file at Cody Firearms Museum so we cannot represent the gun as a factory engraved gun, and we have priced the gun as though it was aftermarket engraved.  However, upon close examination of the gun it appears to be factory in every way.  The quality of the engraving is distinctly Winchester factory quality work.  There are no signs of the gun being restored, ie no polish marks going in the wrong direction, no remnants of pits or wear, no softened edges on the rib or on the rib matting, all stampings on the barrels clear and crisp. The wood is solid and fits the metal to perfection.  This gun is an affordable engraved Model 21.  The gun is beautiful with 100% metal finishes.  The mechanics are excellent, with perfect screws, barrels tight on the breech face and hinge pin, well-timed ejectors, crisp single selective trigger…all in perfect working order.  This is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, the action and forend iron having been stripped to the smallest part, Ultrasonic cleaned, each part scrubbed shiny, inspected for function and integrity, lubricated properly and reassembled.  We have a 90-day mechanical warranty on all VFI CERTIFIED guns.  This is a rare opportunity to own an engraved Winchester Model 21 that is light and balanced, ready for your favorite shotgun sports.  Thanks for looking!

We employ full time gunsmiths on premises and can perform alterations to suit your needs within a few weeks of purchase. Common requests are: -stock bending to suit your particular requirements -addition of any specified butt pad to increase length of pull -alteration of chokes to suit your shooting preferences -lengthening of chambers and forcing cones -darkening stock color with penetrating stains -restoring any part of the gun including rust blue, charcoal blue, bone and charcoal case color, wood restoration and checkering recuts. If you like one our guns but it needs "tweaked", let us know and we can quote you a time and price. Some enthusiasts like the guns "as found" and others want them "just so". We often list guns as found and let the particular buyer choose how they want their gun to fit or look.
