Description:
These rifles were made for Sears Roebuck and marketed under the JC Higgins moniker post WWII. They used an FN Mauser Commercial Action, along with a new sporter type barrel as shown, and this particular example has a one piece Leupold type base and rings along with a very old period Bushnell riflescope (missing one cap) with surprisingly good optics, low scoped safety, etc. Rifle barrel is marked J C Higgins and Model 50. Action is FN Marked on the left side. A very good no nonsense deer gun that will outlast most all of us.
