J. PURDEY & SONS EJECTOR SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK 12 GA. SHOTGUN MANUFACTURED IN 1898. Nitro proofed sleeved 28” barrels choked Modified and Full with 2 ¾” chambers. Double triggers. 16xxx serial range number “4” gun of an original set. Restored overall in England circa 1960’s with new deluxe walnut checkered straight wrist stock with checkered butt (15” pull, 1 ½’, 2 ½” drop, ¼” cast off at heel). Weight 6 pounds, 12 ounces. Original forend with wear. Barrels and mounts refinished and frame and side locks polished in the French manner. Completely refurbished and timed locks and ejectors as tight as a new gun. Mint bores. Engraving in excellent condition and Audley Street barrel address in perfect condition. Nice resurrection of an 1898 “antique” Purdey. Priced reasonably.
