Payment Types Accepted: cash, check, money order Description: Very Scarce Martial Henry Rifle. Serial no. 3937. One of the rifles issued to the 1st DC Cavalry in 1864. The barrel has a very even beautiful bluish- brownish color to it. No pitting on it. The brass frame has that gorgeous crystalized untouched golden patina that we love to see on a Henry. The stock is beautiful , full size, never been sanded. Years ago it had a thin coat of varnish applied. I've always been under the assumption that rifles when turned in by the 1st DC Cavalry and before going to the !st Maine Cavalry or the Veteran Volunteers the stocks had a coat of varnish added. Not distracting what so ever. The all important CGC cartouche is fantastic and very well defined. Wood to medal fit is fantastic. The "Henry Bump" is present. The other inspection markings on frame, buttplate, and barrel are perfect. Barrel address is fine. Both front and rear sights are original and fine. All numbers match that are supposed to. Even has the original hickory 4 piece cleaning rod in the buttplate. Most always missing from most rifles. My good friend Pat Redding of Reddings in Gettysburg Pa. has been getting great numbers for the last few Henrys he has had. It shows Henry Rifles are as hot as ever. This rifle is far superior to most Martial Henry Rifles that become available. Out of a 50-60 year old collection. You'll be proud of this one. Please call 973-214-3407 with questions.
