<<<SOLD>>>>> A clean J. Manton English made 12ga double hammer vintage shotgun, with 28" barrels and at the muzzle the barrel edges touch in the center. Copius English proofs under the barrels, and the chokes are left tube FULL and tight tube is CYL. The bores are clean up to the chambers and have moderate corrosion and some pitting, Chamering 2 9/16" shells with J.MANTONFINE DAMASCUS STEEL stamped on the top rib.Hammers are matched and work well. The front action lockplates, frame, trigger guard, and breech are all bank note steel chisel engraved. The English fine walnut stock have very fine chisel, hand checkering all very dep and original. Behind the lefy lock is a dent and a very fine haor-line stress shallow crack that is not open and is soild. The Butt-plate is steel and has a widows peak. Overall a very fine English vintage shotgun.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
