Description:
**** SOLD **** For Sale is a Winchester Model 1885 "Low Wall" single shot rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This features a 24" half octagon barrel in #2 profile, fixed blade front & buckhorn rear sights, set trigger and straight stock with rifle buttplate. It was received in the warehouse on January 7th, 1901 and shipped January 8th, 1901. Also included will be a Cody Firearms Museum letter.
The barrel retains around 90% blue and receiver 95% with some freckling & storage wear that could possibly clean up some. The stocks have most of their original varnish with some light wear and handling marks, mainly on the forearm. They fit tight to the frame with no breaks or cracks present. Looking from the bore end, there is a little roughness/buildup just ahead of the chamber. If you look from the muzzle end, the bore looks mint. Overall, this is a solid piece that with a little TLC, could really shine.
