Description:
This Colt 1908 Vest Pocket Hammerless .25 caliber semiautomatic pistol was manufactured in 1911.  This is according to ColtAutos-dot-com which has a complete serial-number listing of all Colt 1908 Vest Pocket Hammerless .25 caliber semiautomatic pistols manufactured from 1908 to 1928.  This pistol features Colt's high polish blue finish and the early type 1 hard rubber grips.  The trigger, thumb safety and grip safety are case colored while other parts are blued.  The overall length of the gun is 4½ inches.  The barrel length is two inches.  The overall height is 3 inches. The total weight with its empty magazine is 13.2 ounces.

The condition of this gun is 98 percent.  There is a 1-inch by 1/8-inch scrap on the top left of the slide, about an inch from the rear of the slide.  There is also a 1/32-inch by 1/32-inch speck on the frame about 1/16 inch from the top right corner of the right grip panel and a 1/8-inch spot on the frame adjacent to the left side of the right grip panel, about 3/4 inch from the bottom of the panel. These are only blemishes on the gun; the bluing is otherwise near perfect.  Please excuse the oil smears.  The case colors of the trigger, thumb safety, and grip safety are also near perfect, as are the original rubber Colt grip panels.  The magazine shows some bluing wear due to insertion and removal from the magazine well.  The gun looks like it has been kept in it box all its years.  The original box is quite worn and tattered, but whole.  The original instruction sheet is whole, though yellow with age; it is in box (see photos).  The instruction sheet is one contiguous paper folded into four pages, and not four separate pages.

The gun comes with the original box (though worn and tattered), the original cleaning rod, and the original user instruction sheets.  There are no other papers or other accessories.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Please excuse the oil smears in the photos.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays $25 for USPS Priority mail and $17.95 for USPS insurance.  Per the USPSsite, insurance is calculated at $9.55 for the first $600, plus $1.40 for each additional $100, rounded up.  I will accept a personal check which I will hold until it clears.  I will also accept a USPS money order which I do not have to hold, as it clears immediately.

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash, and I don’t have to wait for them to clear.  However, I will accept a personal check or another type money order, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall.

If you need to contact me, I am available any time, except Friday evenings and Saturdays.  I will return calls and emails Saturday evening.
