Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are really proud to offer this very good example of Winchester's sought after model 65. Only about 5700 of these slender rifles were made, making them high on the list of the Winchester collector. However, they have chased the 218 Bee version for decades since it was found in no other lever gun. This particular gun is in very good condition, with only light handling marks present. The blue is strong, with some thinning at carry points, some weak stampings, as we often see on this model. The wood is also very good, having a good fit around the steel. The action works as designed, including the half cock safety. It is crisp and smooth, and the bore of the 24 inch barrel is absolutely gleaming. Even the checkered steel butt plate looks great, and the factory installed Lyman 98C bolt peep sight is the icing on the cake. This is a late production rifle, made in the 1943-47 period when only a few came out of the Winchester factory. If you have been looking for the right model 65 to collect or for investment, but you want one of the most sought after calibers offered, then look no further.
