From my collection, I am offering an all original pre-war Winchester Model 94 made November 1940, and chambered in 32 Winchester Special, with the Original Receipt dated 11-15-1941, Yes, less than one month before Pearl Harbor. The serial number 1252952 is written on the receipt. The receipt notes the purchase of a box of 32 special shells. Well guess what, they are here too with 9 of the original unfired Super-X Silver Tip bullets! Notice the callout on the back of the box”, "Adapted to Winchester Models 64, 65 and 94." As you probably know, 32 Special was definitely NOT one of the much smaller M65 calibers (.218 Bee, 25-20 and 32-20). This callout is very rare as Winchester must have caught the error early, and it is only found on a handful of these boxes.
This gun has been around for 81 years and is still in excellent condition, I would call the bluing 90+%.. The action is tight and smooth. The barrel blue is turning slightly plum patina and is more noticeable under bright sunlight. The blueing on the frame, mag tube, and butt plate are excellent, but turning slightly as well. See the pictures. All markings and addresses are clear. The bore is very nice and shiny. The wood has most of the original varnish with some minor marks from limited use, but otherwise in super condition with no cracks, splits, or extra holes. This original package would be great for a WWII era collector.
