This walnut display case is designed to accommodate most long guns or riffle up to 48 1/2 “ in length, or many pistols. However, anything could be on display inside.

Interior clearance are 4 1/2” deep x 12 1/2” wide (add 1 1/2” to get outside dimensions).

The walnut has been milled to 3/4” thick, and the cherry 1/4” plywood is finished on both sides mainly for stability purposes. Attached on the back side is what knows as a French cleat, made from 1/2” thick baltic birch plywood, and stamped, pre-drilled, counter sunk to place horizontally on a wall if so desired. Note that it is pre-drilled for wall studs that are placed; 12”, 16”, or 18” on center (o.c.). The French cleat for your wall is inside the case, as is 3” screws, torx driver bit for your ease of installation, and for strong secure wall mount, as the case weights around 20lbs.

All the wood has been sanded to 2500 grit and finished with one coat of each of the following ODIES products: Odies oil, Odies wood butter, and odies wax. This is my current favorite product to use as its all natural, durable,  I might add expensive, and provides for a natural, medium sheen/satin finish. Its food safe and actually good for your hand when applying it.

Glue used: Titebond type 2. Glass is 1/4” laminated for additional Security (silicone adhesive/sealant for the glass)

Torsion Hinges: these high end hinges are especially functional, as they will hold the heavy lid open in any position desired, even when wall mounted.  The lid is additionally held closed with earth magnets, side hasp with 2 decorative small padlocks to keep the kids and honest people out. (All included in the accessory pack, screws, locks, keys, etc…).

There is a leather spacer/gasket treated with neatsfood oil, between the lid and case body.

The leather lined gun stock and barrel supports are made from highly figured “crotch walnut”. The snaps will secure the firearm in place particularly if the case is hung in the wall.
These supports are attached/drilled in from the backside of the case (no glue) so if you need to reposition, remove or deleted them, simply remove the screws, and re-locate or delete them. Keep them, and glue if you’d like  for added strength.
Note: The barrel support is set for a single barrel or o/under

Price is $1300,  Add $70 for shipping and insurance

Any questions: call, email or text me please
No expense was spared on this case ore others I’ve made.

Custom orders upon request.

As I’ve renewed my interest in leather work, and first in with woodworking, I decided to hand (saddle ) stitch 2 layers of leather tighter to make holddowns for the stock and barrel supports. Line 24 snaps, on Herman oak leather with a soft, sheepskin liner is used, and simply finished with olive oil. A bit 3/4” felt is provided in the packet to stick on to bottom of holddow straps, in the center section if you wish.

Note that some felts are already attached on some of my displays cases.
This is a long winded explanation of this build but im passionate about all the work I do.

Another note: I also dig blown up leather carving of the beautiful engravings seen on both sides of the receiver of this grade #3 .22 Browning riffle. I typically inlay those images in highly figured  “crotch” walnut.

Any images can be carved from a simple photo from smart phone. Just send me the photo and we discuss sizes and cost.

Again Thanks for the interest and looking.
