Description:
I present to you, a vintage England made 20 gauge boxlock. This was built in 1934 by George Gibbs. The gun has ejectors which are in time. Eventually, perhaps in the mid 1990's, a new stock was made and has following dimensions; DAC 1.5" DAH 2.0" LOP 15.25", no cast. (original stock, which length of pull is 14.75" comes with the sale) Weight of the gun comes in at a mere 5lb 6oz. Barrels are approximately 28" (see pic) and choked improved cylinder on right / half choke on left. Barrel flats indicate nitro proofs. Receiver table indicates Birmingham Proof House marks. Bores are most excellent. Barrels are on face. Action is tight. You will notice the receiver still has some wonderful case color and also is beautifully engraved. Double triggers work with ease. Gun balance is lovely....just what you would expect from an English gun maker who had presence in both Birmingham and London. There are handling marks, however no cracks. Original oak case has the initials RLS stamped on the top. Leather and brass has gorgeous patina Case includes original label, wooden cleaning rod, rod accessories, and oil bottle.
This gun has been maintained and stored for decades in a climate controlled environment. Owner wishes to sell as he reduces inventory. Please ask questions without hesitation on our George Gibbs 20 gauge.
