This Winchester M-70 .257 Roberts, Pre - War (1939) wLeupold Scope (M86X) & Mounts.. The gun's bluing is abt 90 -95 % w/some edge war at muzzle.
the receiver is very good w/some edgewear at the barrel & receiver (both areas very light). The barrel has factory supplied filler at the rear sight mounting. The trigger housing is abot 96% w/no no wear. The floorplate is about 95% w/very faint edge wear at the front. The chamber is clean and normal. The Wood stock has some very light handling marks a either side at the bottom near the af the foorplate. There are some very light handling marks at the rear of the Buttststock area .The Stock is abt 85 - 90 % . Overal the Guns Stock is about 85 - 90 % ( Very Good for a M 70 that is 83 years of age). Ther is a notch cut for a Lyman Peep Sight (Very popular in it's period ( See pic of both a correct Lyman Peep Sight that is also included and is a perfect fit for this Pre War Winchester.) . The bore is a mirror w/distinct rifling.. The Wood Hand Cut Checkering is excellent at both of the Forearm and Rear stock areas.
A correct period type Leater Sling is also included. Great prospect for Collector, range and a Safari. enthusiast.
