With Side-Folding Wire Stock & Heat Shield
Here we present a National Ordnance Carbine, manufactured circa 1960 through 1983. These were manufactured commercially and combined with the surplus G.I. materials and parts. National Ordnance is known to have sold some of these to law enforcement and emergency services in California during their years of operation. This one was made in the paratrooper configuration with a side-folding wire stock. The top handguard is a perforated heat shield. This is a great little rifle in a short, light package.
The U.S. .30 caliber semi-automatic M1 was first used by the United States Armed Forces on October 22, 1941, during World War II. There were 6,110,730 carbines made of all types during the war. They would continue to see service in Korea and Vietnam and beyond. They remain a useful tool to this day.
The overall condition is near fine. The action is excellent. The stock is smooth and solid. The bore is bright and reflective with sharp rifling. This will make a super handy little carbine for the truck, camp, or homestead!
