Description:
On Hold Sale Pending. I'm not sure if this is considered a Kentucky or plains rifle.  Due to it being 45 caliber I'm thinking it was made as a plains rifle made for western use.  The full stock is nice with good color but does have a old repair at the wrist a chip in front of the lock and repairs in front of trigger guard  and a chip at the toe see photos).  The lock is marked A.W.Spies, Warranted and functions as it should.  I have read AW Spies was. Maker from 1832 to 1860.  Both front and rear sights are present on the 45 caliber 33" rifled barrel. The barrel and lock have a smooth dark brown color. The fancy brass patch box still contains some old patches and round balls.  Patch box trigger, gaurd, but plate nose cap ramrod furniture appear brass with a light brown patina.  The half moon inset on the left side of the but stock I think may be silver? The bore has deep rifling but has not been cleaned for along time.  Shipping will be actual cost not to exceed $50.00 by usps priority mail.  Please feel free to call me with any questions 218-839-9272 or chriskobberdahl2gmail.
