Description:
Winchester model 1873 carbine, .44-40, 20" barrel. Serial #380217, 1891 manufacture. good bore, rifling present. Metal overall is a smooth mottled grey with some light surface pitting mostly on the barrel. Barrel address is there, but hard to read. Mechanics are very good. Original sights. Wood is very good, nothing major, age handling and saddle wear, expected dings, one small crack on forearm extending from the barrel band forward. 2 small inlaid wooden plugs on the underside of the buttstock. Correct carbine buttplate with compartment, saddle ring present, original dust cover.
A well-used '73 Winchester carbine, although not abused.
