Description:
This Walther PP was manufactured in 1945 just before the wars end.  The disruption by the constant bombing and Allied troops advancing from the West and the Russians from the East caused many shortcuts to be taken in production.
Most notable is the rough unpolished surface finish from the machining operations. Molded grips were history, so the grips were made of wood, the checkering and Walther logo was impressed. There is no factory mark or other information stamped in the Left side of the slide.  The code for Walther, ac, was stamped below the serial number.
The Frame and slide serial numbers match within 532, there was no time to carefully sort parts. A group of B-17’s can make the task of matching numbers seem un-important.  Notice that there is no firing proof, another waste of bullets better saved for the Russians at the gate.
The holster is interesting, it is marked with a Luftwaffe Eagle over a swastika. The holster was originally mounted with a shoulder strap, which has been removed and the belt loop added. A name is written under the flap, “S/Sgt Dan L Bias”. Did he bring it back, modify the holster?
The gun was built so late in the war that it saw little use, it remains in excellent condition. The bore looks new and the function is flawless. This is a nice addition to either a Walther or WWII collection. Caliber .32 ACP with a  3 ¼” barrel.  Serial Number 385669 p.    FFL or C&R Required.
