The overall length is approx. 53.25"". The 38"" octagon 36 caliber barrel has a good bore with strong rifling. It has a smooth brown patina with erosion in the bolster area. The lock is marked R DUNLAP Jr over PITTSBURGH. It has edge lines and decorative engraving at the tail. The lock and hammer have a brown patina with light roughness. The hammer has play on he lock and the nipple is battered. The bras nose cap, trigger guard, butt plate, side plate, and patch box are good. There is a German silver star on the cheekpiece. The full length stock is good with a poor repair at the toe, a couple of old repairs along the barrel channel, wood filler at the pins and a couple of other places, and erosion at the nipple. A replacement ramrod is present. The double set trigger action works correctly. This nice looking representative Pennsylvania-Kentucky rifle would look great over your fireplace! SOLD Antique: Yes |
