The overall length is approx. 67.25"". The approx. 50.75"" octagon to round 60 caliber barrel has a good brown smooth bore. The barrel has a smooth brown patina. The transition from octagon at approx. 10.75"" from the breech features a three-groove wedding band. The only marks on the gun are the British barrel proofs which consist of a crown over BP over 22 (the bore) over a crown over an unreadable letter. The unmarked lock is approx. 6.75"" long with a slight banana shape. The cock is reinforced. The lock and the remaining metal have a smooth brown patina. The trigger guard has the typical Indian trade gun deep curve shape. The butt plate is secured by two round head screws. The plain iron side plate has two screws which secure the lock. The four iron ramrod thimbles have decorative ridges. The wood ramrod is present. The full length stock is fine with no cracks or chips. The action functions correctly. These British Canada Indian trade flintlock fowlers are rarely seen, especially in the original barrel length. Don't miss this one! SOLD Antique: Yes |
