Description: This bayonet measures 20 7/8" overall with an 18" straight, angular blade having twin hollow ground back flutes and a single wide fuller along the interior face with clear "US" stamp on the ricasso beneath. The bayonet retains about 95-97% of of the original blue finish that has a small amount of silvering at the tip, as well as numerous small scratches along the edges, and further silvering on the bearing surfaces of the socket and locking ring. The bayonet is housed in an excellent, original scabbard with leather throat tab and swiveling "US" belt hook. The brass belt hook has a pleasant yellow-ochre tarnish, and the leather tab is in fine shape with light surface wear and whitish residue on the front.
