Payment Types Accepted: Description: On hold Sale Pending. This appears to be a Pattern 1856 (dated 1857) P56 Tower/Enfield Civil war musket with bayonet. The 2 band wood stock is much used and abused with a chip in front of the lock along with numerous cracks at the wrist on both sides of the lock and in front of the trigger gaurd and burnout behind the nipple (see photos) there is also a cartouche and some numbers on the right side of the stock near the but plate. The lock is marked Tower 1857 and functions as it should. The 33" barrel has the front and rear sights as well as the bayonet attachment. All metal parts have a grey brown patina. The gun appears mostly complete but is missing the rear sling swivel. The bayonet came with the rifle when I purchased it and I think is correct for the P56. The bore shows very shallow rifling. Shipping will be actual cost approximately 50.00. Please feel free to contact me with any questions 218-838-9272 or chriskobberdahl2gmail SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Tower Model: P56 |
