PENDING SALE - Awaiting funds. Up for grabs is a rare Red Willow Ballard Reproduction Rifle chambered in a Ron Long "style' 40-65. 30" heavy octagon barrel with beautiful rifling. This chamber is about .100 longer than the original 40-65 with much more case capacity. Includes a Hornaday custom file/sizing die matched to this chamber. This action is one of the best actions I have seen as far as craftsmanship and fit compared to other Ballard Replicas. Has a doubleset trigger that is very smooth, adjustable and light. There is some light handling marks in the stock and some on the finished areas of the action and barrel. The pictures show as much as I can. There is a small crack that has been repaired in the forearm and is actually pretty hard to notice unless you are looking for it. This gun is not a wall hanger and will shoot with the best of them. It is very accurate. I do have some load data that I would be happy to share with the new owner over the phone. This rifle has competed at many events here in Montana and has tied a record on the long range buffalo match here in Billings (38/40). Will include a hard case for shipping.
