Description:
This original, unmodified M52 B has matching serial numbers (bolt and barrel: #71721 B indicating a 1950 production year).
The barrel is very good to excellent and I believe is the "heavy" model (not the Bull barrel). One has to look carefully to see the few minor blemishes on the barrel due to prior use. Not even a hint of freckling or past oxidation on the barrel. Upon close inspection, the bore is clean with sharp rifling. The stock shows the effects of some use with finish wear at the forend and around the edges of the wood near the original metal butt plate, and there’s one small, very shallow gouge in the wood forend on the right side (see pictures). The gun weighs over 12lbs with the Lyman scope mounted and comes with two (2) metal 5-shot magazines.
The 20x Lyman Scope shows finish wear on the knurled adjustment rings and one cluster of oxidation spots (see pics), but other than that, this Lyman 20x is in very good condition. The optics are perfect, lenses show no scratches or imperfections, and this scope is fitted with fine crosshairs. Both metal screw caps are present and attach and remove easily (no cross-threading) as designed.
