Excellent overall condition with the exception of light scattered oxidation on magazine tube and patch of discoloration and pin prick pitting on underside of barrel at muzzle. Mfd in 1962. Groved receiver.
The Winchester Model 61 Slide Rifle has a unique design with a slide-action rarely seen amongst rifles. The sliding motion chambers a .22 Magnum round from the under-barrel tubular magazine and cocks an internal hammer. The lightweight design and quick cocking mechanisms made this a popular option for young man's rifles for all purposes, as it was marketed the "Boy's Rifle" in the 1930's.
