Description:
This is a VERY lightly-used Dan Wesson Model 15-2 revolver in .357 Magnum complete with it's original box, owner's manual, assorted factory pamphlets, tool kit, and outer cardboard sleeve.  The Model 15-2 is a DA/SA revolver with Dan Wesson's famous interchangeable barrel system and quick-change grip system.  It features steel construction, a gloss-blue factory finish, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, factory adjustable target sights with a white-outline rear and hi-viz red front blade, a target-style smooth-faced trigger, 1-piece checkered Walnut Target-style grip, and could be had with multiple barrel lengths and types.  The Model 15-2 was intended as multi-use gun depending on the barrel installed, and it quickly proved to be a very good wheelgun that was both reliable and accurate.  This particular example was made in the early 1980's and is 100% original and has not been altered or modified in any way.  If this revolver has had more than a handful of cartridges fired thru it since leaving the factory we would be very surprised.  It came from the factory fitted with a 6" inch barrel with solid rib barrel shroud.  The factory gloss-blue finish is still intact and rates 96 to 97%, with the deductions coming from some minor handling/storage marks located mainly on the right side of the barrel rather than any finish wear from being used.  There is also an extremely faint drag-line on the cylinder that can only be seen under very close inspection in the right light.  The bore in the changeable solid-rib barrel is mirror-bright and pristine, as are the 6 chambers in the cylinder.  The factory Target-style grip is in superb condition overall, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage.  The only thing keeping the grip from being considered "mint" are a few tiny little handling/storage marks in the wood.  The checkered panels are still crisp and clean, and the Dan Wesson medallions are still intact and in good shape.  Like the barrel, this grip was designed to be quick-change and can be swapped out with the removal of one hex-head screw thru the butt.  The action on this Model 15-2 is in perfect time, and is smooth whether it is worked in double-action or single-action operation.  Like other Dan Wesson revolver's from this period, the hammer travel is short and fast.  At full-lock the cylinder is rock-steady with ZERO wiggle or play in it.  All of the controls on this wheelgun are in perfect working order, including the adjustable rear sight and the left side-mounted cylinder release just ahead of the cylinder.  All in all, the mechanics of this gun are 100% like-new and in perfect condition.  This Dan Wesson .357 Magnum revolver should function just as reliably and accurately today as it did when it left the factory 40 plus years ago.  As mentioned before, it comes complete with everything it shipped from the factory with including the box which appears to be original, however the serial-numbered end label has come off some years back.  The serial number was written on the side of the cardboard sleeve at some point to keep them together.  The original owner's manual, warranty card (never filled out), the Dan Wesson "Welcome Letter" dated 1981, and the tool kit (which has the barrel installation multi-tool and feeler gauge) are all in excellent condition.  If you have been looking for a exceptionally-clean, very lightly-used .357 Magnum Dan Wesson, this Model 15-2 would be an excellent choice.
