Colt lightning .44cal
For sale is a nice shape .44cal the wood is good, action good has dust cover, round 26 inch barrel, with full length mag tube. from colts site gun made in 1888, a real nice collectible gun.
The colt lightning magazine rifle was introduced in 1884. Based largely on two patients by W. H. Elliot ( Remington double derringer fame ), It was colts alternate, match to the calibers of single action army revolvers, to Winchester’s model 1873. They were offered in three frame size, the first were . 44-40, .38-40, and 32-20. Barrels for the medium-frame guns were available in a 26” standard rifle length ( either round or octagonal)
