Description:
***   SOLD   ***   This Lefever F Grade 10 gauge could tell you some stories. No. 21046 was made in the mid -1890’s and has a fair amount of residual case coloring on the frame, topstrap, and the sideplates which are marked “Lefever Arms Co.”. It has double triggers, extractors, and an automatic safety. Weight is 9lb 12oz.   ***   The 30” Damascus barrels are chambered for 2-7/8” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid crosshatched rib. The barrels show some mild pitting and a few small dents. The right barrel is bored 0.777 and has a constriction of 0.026 for Improved Modified choke. The left barrel is bored 0.775 with a constriction of 0.034 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness on both barrels is 0.046" and 0.045" respectively.  There is some mild pitting in the right barrel in front of the chamber where the ball walls are the thickest.  ***   The pistol grip stock and splinter forearm are made of figured American walnut. Finish is worn as is the checkering but with a little TLC the stock would really come back to life! The buttstock has a handsome pistol grip cap. Don’t ask me why but it also has a thin buttplate from another maker installed which fits very well. Easy to change. Stock dimensions are 14-1/4” over a thin buttplate by 1-5/8” by 2-3/4”. Neutral cast.   ***   This is an Antique Firearms and does not require an FFL under federal law. Not for sale where prohibited by state or local laws. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense.   ***   Come and see this great double and other fine firearms at the MacNab and Heritage Guns booths at the Southern Side by Side Championship & Exhibition April 22nd – 25th, 2021 at Deep River Sporting Clays in Sanford, NC. ^^^^^ Enter the MacNab / John Dickson & Son Scottish Round Action event at the shoot. Participants must shoot a Scottish-made Round Action in this competition.
