On Hold Sale Pending. US Civil war 1861 contract musket by Norwich dated 1863, appears to be 58 caliber. The walnut stock is in good shape other than a very old wrist repair and a visible cartouche. The dealer I purchased it from thought it was a field repair (see tag). The 39+" barrel and metal parts are mostly smooth dark brown with both sights present. The lock is in good shape marked US Norwich 1863 and works well. The gun is complete with both sling swivels but is missing its ramrod. A interesting old musket.
