Description:
VERY FINE CONDITION, DESIRABLE BLUE FINISH .38 DOUBLE ACTION 4TH MODEL REVOLVER, #471XXX, MADE 1895-1909. These are simply a smaller, scaled down version of the big .44 Frontier Top-Breaks. The workmanship in these hand fitted revolvers is truly amazing. Most of these seem to show up in nickel finish and this blued example with 3 1/4" barrel shows really nice deep turn-of-the-century S&W blue. Overall, there is some light edge wear and very minor blue wear on the high points of the cylinder and frame, but even the grip straps and trigger guard show fine deep blue with minimal wear. There is still some nice case color on the hammer and trigger sides. All top barrel markings and side  .38 S&W CTG markings are sharp and clear. Matching numbers and fine hard rubber grips. Exc. screws, action and bright sharp bore. One of the most appealing small revolvers of the period.
