Smith & Wesson Model K-22 Masterpiece is considered to be the finest target revolver ever produced. The Masterpiece in .22lr. is a classic from days gone by in the Smith & Wesson line up as production of the model ceased in 1989 when the company board decided it was simply too expensive to produce.
This is a 1956 Smith & Wesson Postwar, 3rd Model, Pre-Model 17, K-22 Masterpiece. This One-owner revolver would have rated NRA Excellent if not for the faint bluing loss and pitting at the muzzle.
The cylinder back, face, recoil shield and forcing cone show no carbon or flashing with no loss of bluing and virtually like when new. The bore and cylinders are excellent, bright and mirror-like.
Deep and appealing case color hardened, grooved .265" trigger with .375" semi-target hammer, both showing exceptional colors.
Revolver sports beautiful 1950's Diamond Magna grips in pristine condition and original to this piece.
“Micro-Click” Adjustable rear sight with .128 black square notch rear blade and a front Partridge sight post of .125" (1/8) atop a grooved full length sight rib.
Pinned 6" barrel with an excellent bore showing strong, sharp rifling and fluted six-round cylinder with recessed chambers.
Original sales receipt dated August 11, 1957 along with original S&W manual and warranty card will accompany piece.
