For sale is a beautiful Arrieta / Orvis Custom Fine Grade 28 gauge sidelock shotgun with 26" barrels. Barrels are fixed choke (cyl and mod) and feature automatic ejectors. The coin finished action boasts full coverage hand engraving, disc set strikers, double triggers (front articulated), rolled trigger guard and long bottom tang. The highly figured, AAA fancy English style stock has perfectly carved drop points, crisp checkering and an oxblood covered leather recoil pad. (LOP is 14.75" from front trigger to pad). The forend is a very slim modified beavertail style and flows wonderfully into the stock. Anson and Deeley style push rod release and forend iron also adorned in hand engraving. Bores are bright, all wood and metal finishes are in excellent shape, mechanics are perfect. You might upon close inspection spot a stray handling mark or two but nothing to detract from this beautiful shotgun. The 'Fine Grade' was the most premium offering in the Orvis Custom line. Original MSRP was $8,495 (not including the case).
The Emmebi case also warrants special mention. With premium leather over solid wooden construction and solid brass hardware - these are some of the finest shotgun cases offered. This case is finished in a traditional English tan on the outside with a moss green velvet interior. Features keyed locks and an accessory compartment inside. Emmebi currently offers a case very similar to this on their for well over $1,000.
This light (6lb. 2oz) and lively little 28 would be perfect on quail over pointers or grouse. You would certainly be the envy of your hunting party.
