If you have been looking for the ultimate 16 Gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster shotgun for your collection here it is! Bought new by the original owner in 1979, this Remington 870 Wingmaster was never even put together much less shot before it was coated in oil and put into storage for the last 42 years. It is in perfect mint condition, 100% just like the day it left Remington's factory. We had to remove the dried-up oil off of it for pictures, but did not dare put it together either for fear of scratching or putting marks on the barrel extension. As you can see from the pictures, the bolt and bolt face is spotless, the barrel extension that goes into the receiver is flawless, the bottom of the shell lifter is perfect, and even the action bars do not show a single mark on them, an unavoidable occurance if the action is worked even a couple of times. The factory gloss blue finish rates 99.9%, it is just how it was when it passed inspection at Remington. All of the markings on both the gun and barrel are flawless and crisp, and all of the controls like the safety, trigger, and bolt release are perfect. The bore in the 26" inch barrel is mirror-bright and pristine, and the ventilated rib is in perfect condition. The beautiful factory stock set is just as perfect as the rest of the gun. The factory gloss finish is 100% intact and crystal-clear, the checkering is perfect, and all of the stock hardware is intact and in mint condition. The factory installed recoil pad still has the little rubber flaps sticking out of the ribs from the mold that it was made from (similar to the little rubber nubs on a brand new automotive tire). As mentioned in the title, this 870 Wingmaster comes complete with it's original box with the factory serial-numbered end-label intact and the Styrofoam inserts still fastened in place, and the original owner's manual still inside. All in all, this has to be one of the best vintage Remington 870 Wingmasters in existence. Finding a vintage 12 or 20 Ga. gun in this condition is extremely hard to do, finding a 16 Ga. gun in this condition is 100 times harder. It would be impossible to upgrade from this example in ANY respect.
