Description:
Excellent original early 1943 WW2 M1A1 Carbine by Indland Mfg. Co.. The carbine was sent to Rock Island Arsenal for typical up grade. Retains all original Indland parts, stock and handguard match markings and color and wear. Indland M1A1 carbines were delivered between 1942 and 1943 and were numbered 50,000 to 950,000. This carbine serial number 831853 shows it was manufactured towards the end of the range and matches barrel mfg. date 9-43. The carbine is marked front of the receiver " US Carbine/Cal 30 M1" and on the rear behind the 1st type sight " Inland Div" over serial number 831853. The gun retains the early blued flat bolt. The folding paratrooper stock has original GI metalfolding butt plate with correct cast part number and original metal frame and leather cheek piece. The wood stock is marked HI inside on cross band structure bar. The hand guard is marked HI on underside and has the early 2 rivet plate at the rear. Stock pieces are both made of walnut. The stock is the original high wood stock that has been cut to low wood as were all Arsenal reworks. The left side of the stock shows the RIA Arsenal rework stamp. The pistol grip is bottom marked IO and side marked P in circle as it should be. The rear early 1st type flip sight is side marked S and has not been changed. Carbine retains original mag. release w-1 and safety button unmarked. Hammer id marked U and trigger hsg has the Indland marking. Cocking handle marked U on underside. Parkerizing is all original finish. 15 round magazine is marked IA. This WW2 Inland M1A1 Carbine manufactured in 1943 most certainly saw serive and retains original configuration. These are rare and a great opportunity to own a Historic WW2 classic Paratrooped Carbine 30 caliber. More pictures available if you need them just ask for paticulars.
